The Envisalink by Connect2Go

The Envisalink module is an internet communicator that interfaces with your alarm system. Many older alarm panels are compatible with this unit. For this to be installed a wire must be run from your alarm control panel to your home network router. If running a wire is too difficult there are wireless options available.

Once your alarm is online, it can be controlled remotely via desktop PC, tablet or smartphone. It has interactive security capabilities in an all-in-one, intuitive, and easy-to-use interface.

This unit comes with the Connect2Go app, which is quite user-friendly. The components are easy to install and program. The app allows you to:

  • Arm and disarm the system
  • View cameras
  • Change the thermostat
  • Toggle outputs on the alarm system that can be used in conjunction with a relay to turn on lights or garage door openers
  • Receive instant text and email notifications
  • View zone status and activity logs

Vera Smart Home Controller

Adding a Vera controller users can add all sorts of new functionality to the alarm system. Vera lets users create scenes, or “if that then this” situations. By telling the Vera what IP the envisalink is located and by downloading certain alarm plug-ins, your Vera can integrate with your home security system.

It also has geo-fencing capability. This can be useful when creating scenes.

This is super handy. It means you can use your motion sensors to trigger Z-wave devices such as locks and lights. And the best part about the Vera is that there are no monthly fees. Everything is free!

Don’t stop at tying in your alarm system. The Vera also has plugins for various different products, including Nest.
